Honda Ridgeline (1st Gen) LED Headlight Retrofit Proposal

Hi all, my name is Oliver, I was recently approached by a member of the Ridgeline community asking if I could develop a plug-and-play LED headlight retrofit for the 1st Generation Honda Ridgeline (2006–2014). Before I move forward, I am gauging interest to see if there is enough support to make this project worthwhile.

The design will use 5x7 universal LED headlights mounted in custom brackets, engineered to fit the factory headlight housings while retaining the OEM beam adjustment knob.

Product Offering

Like with my Honda Element retrofits, I plan to offer several tiers depending on preference and budget:

• Complete Retrofit Packages – Fully pre-assembled headlights with different 5x7 LED options. Pricing will range from $400 to $600, depending on the chosen LED unit. Customers may also supply their own preferred aftermarket 5x7 LEDs.
  
  

• DIY Retrofit Kit – A bracket-only package for those who want to install their own 5x7 LEDs at home.
  
  

• Plug-and-Play Harness (if required) – Harnesses will be designed based on the Ridgeline’s factory wiring.
  
  

My goal is to provide a seamless upgrade that can be installed either as a full assembly or as a do-it-yourself solution if you’re handy.

Development Plan

• I am looking for 4 guaranteed backers to begin development.
  
  

• Once backed, the development timeline is expected to be 2–3 months, including prototyping, test-fitting, and final production. This is largely dependent on if I can get a Ridgline locally (Atlanta) to prototype with.
  
  

Backer Commitment

• A $90 deposit is required to secure a backer spot.
  
  

• This deposit will be applied as a $150 credit toward the final product price.
  
  

• Backers will also receive:
  
  

  • A discounted price on the first production run.
    
    

  • A free harness (if required) included with their kit.
    
    

  • Early access to a product not available to the general market until after the backer phase.
